Number Crunching
The last thirty days have been just incredible. It’s been so humbling for us to see how much support we have in friends, family, & strangers new friends through our Kickstarter campaign. We’ve been sitting on this music for some time now, and to share it with others—you all—has been so thrilling for us. It will undoubtedly only become more exciting from here on out!
We thought it might be interesting for everyone to take a look at the numbers from our fundraiser. Kickstarter does an excellent job presenting accessible and clear data to the during an active drive. Alex, Sam, & Pete were able to chart Eliot & Eads’ progress for the thirty days, keeping up with thank you’s and making notes for gift orders. Let’s take a look at how the campaign to help fund The Flyover States broke down:

That right there, friends, is one steep ascent. Thirty hours into the campaign, Eliot & Eads met its bottom-line goal of $1200. We were blown away by everyone’s willingness to support us and The Flyover States! In short: it’s never easy asking folks for money. We tried, instead, to approach others by asking them to believe in what we were doing. With that mentality, every donation, every pledge, every email or note we received meant so much to us.

Fifty—fifty?!— people donated to help fund our record. If we sound cool and collected about that fact, don’t let us fool you! The above table depicts a breakdown of referrer sites. That is, where and how did our supporters access the Kickstarter page.
A few fun facts about the campaign:
- 22 of you, surmounting to a whopping $955, accessed our campaign through our Facebook page, by far our largest referrer.
- We received one donation from a dear friend for $17.64 (the City of St. Louis was founded in 1764). And that’s just cool.
- A number of donations came from abroad: Amsterdam, The Netherlands; Beirut, Lebanon; & Singapore, specifically.
- Our embedded video was viewed 564 times throughout the course of a month. You can see all of four of our videos at our Vimeo Page.
Again, thank you all so much! We’re in the process of mastering the record (nearly as you’re reading this). It won’t be long before sounds from The Flyover States are circling between your ears!
Best,
Pete, Alex, & Sam
